This program is dependent on community involvement and we need your help! We are revitalizing Minisink Valley Soccer Club and this will take some time. The more players and volunteer coaches who register, the more teams we can make for games against each other.
Details:
- 8 week program
- 2 training days a week
- Saturday matches
- Club wide curriculum that all coaches are expected to follow
- 1 to 19 years old
- U2-U4 (Ages 2-3, UPK) “Kick Start”
- Skills development and skills games that follows the club curriculum
- Two – 1 hr a week sessions (one mid week one Saturday) with training focusing on fundamentals, fun ball handling games
- #3 Ball
- U5-U6 (Ages 4-5, PK) “Roots”
- Skills development and skills games that follows the club curriculum
- Two – 1 hr a week sessions with training focusing on fundamentals, fun ball handling games
- Saturday games: 4v4, No Goalie, 20min to learn the rules of the game.

- U7-U8 (Age 6-7, 1st -2nd Grade “Peewee”)
- Skills development and skills games that follows the club curriculum
- Two – 1 hr a week sessions with training focusing on fundamentals, fun ball handling games
- Saturday matches: 4v4 , No Goalie, 40 min, Youth/Coach refs
- #3 Ball
- U9-U10 (Ages 8-9, 3rd 4th Grade)
- 2-1.5 training sessions a week that follow club curriculum
- Saturday matches: 7v7 50 min volunteer youth refs
- #4 Ball
- U11-U12 (Age 10-11, 5th-6th grade)
- 2-1.5 training sessions a week that follow club curriculum
- Saturday matches: 9v9 60 min, paid refs
- #4 Ball
- U13-U14 (Age 12-13, 7th-8th grade)
- 2-1.5 training sessions a week that follow club curriculum
- Saturday matches:11v11 60 min, paid refs

- U15-U16 (Age 14-15, 9th-10th grade)

About Our Program
This is a developmental program with a strong focus on fundamental training. We train for each player’s future success in games.
We follow a club wide curriculum so that all teams are learning the fundamentals of the game at the same time for maximum development. Coaches will be looking for club wide improvement not for their own team to win.
After age 7, If you want more advanced training, with high quality competition, please register for our Elite Teams. We have very good numbers signed up for rec and have a U9-10 Team, a U11-U12, and a U13-U14 Team.
Training Schedule
- Training is 2x a week for both recreation and Elite Teams.
- Days and time depend on field and coach availability as well as sunlight. There is no way to schedule them until registration is closed, teams are made, and coaches can provide availability.
- If you want a specific training day and time, please volunteer to coach.
- Training typically starts at 5 or 5:30pm and are 1.5 hours or until dark.
- Elite teams will have lights starting 2026-2027 fall training.
- Coaches will be given a training plan that they must follow for the better development of individual players and the club as a whole.
Match Schedule
- Recreation matches are Saturday mornings starting 9am.
- Times are subject to registration numbers, age divisions, and field availability.
- Times may change each season.

Pre-Elite Ages 6-7 (U7-U8)
Want more competition? More advanced training? Join pre-elite and we will put your player on an Elite Team once we have enough players. Train Fall, Spring, and Summer for the following Fall – Spring U9 elite team season.
Pre-Elite Details
- Open to players U7-U8 (6-7 years old)
- Must register for club recreation and pre-elite
- One additional training day a week as a team
- Included summer and winter training
- A higher commitment required for training and game days
- The intent is to put a team together and have them ready for Fall U8 or U9 Elite team
- Volunteer Coach needed and will be trained.
