Training
We have a club wide training program that involves a universal schedule and lesson plan. All coaches will follow the club’s policy, guidelines, and curriculum for training, to ensure appropriate player development. We all work together as a club, with the same plan, so we can help every player of the club with the week’s lessons. The lessons provided will have skill games and exercises to keep players engaged and time on the ball, NO STANDING AROUND OR IN LINES. Recreation may not work on match tactics during training. That should be done on match day. We learn as we play. Elite Teams will have more time for tactical training. Good training will take a few seasons of repetition for players to fully understand the lessons. You must trust the curriculum as we develop it for the current players’ skill level.
Training Schedule
Recreation: Training will be scheduled according to the availability of Division Commissioners and coaches who volunteer early. Each division will train as one unit with team coaches helping the Division Commissioner run the Training. This will ensure all coaches are following the same lessons and can rely on each other if they don’t understand a lesson. To help set a training schedule, volunteer early to coach.
Elite Teams Players: If there is a scheduling conflict, Elite team players are encouraged to attend an Elite team training above or below their age group or on different days. They are also welcome to attend any recreation training for their division or above for extra training. Recreation coaches should use them to model exercises.
Training Day Policies
All divisions will be working together on the same lesson each week. This will help us work as a club to improve the whole.
- All coaches must follow the provided training structure.
- If a coach cannot attend training you are to notify your Division Commissioner and your team is to still come to training.
