Match Day Protocol

Get Rosters Set Early

All rosters should be set the Thursday before game day. Remind your parents to mark players availability by Thursday night. You cannot show up on game day not knowing if you have a short roster. Constantly ask on Teamsnap for availability. There is a feature to ask those that have not replied.

Short Roster?

If you know you are short for this week’s match, ask the opponent if you could borrow a player or two. Contact the division commissioner and let them know or ask for help finding a player.  Make sure if players switch teams for the match that they have a t-shirt as close to your color as possible. If you have to combine two teams to play a game that is ok. It is better to play than forfeit. Make sure you know by Thursday night if you need to combine teams. Do not wait until Saturday morning. Games must start on time.

Formation and Line up

Know what formation you will be playing and who is playing in those positions. See the formation sheets. Record it for every game. You should rotate your starters and your positions every game so players learn all the positions. Record who are your subs this game so that they start the next game. Players must play at least 50% of each game that they attend.

Check Field Assignment

Are you going to the right field? Did you check the map to know where it is? Did you let your team know which field it is?

Know your Divisions Match Day Protocol

Each division has a different match structure, formation, length of game and rules. Know your division’s Specific Match Day Protocol. Print it out and keep it in your binder for reference.
